Fresh and juicy! A great reflection of Futernick Vineyard, which seems to love giving birth to fresh and aromatic wines. Volcanic soils at 2800 feet! Dark berries and a little funk. Concrete aged, unfined and unfiltered.
At the winery: 12.5% ABV. Fermented in open top picking bins, aged in a single 270 gallon concrete tank.
In the vineyard: deep volcanic clay soils, dry farmed in most years, Tablas Creek clone of Mourvedre (likely the best in the US). Farmed by the great Ron Mansfield of Goldbud Farms, using his "vertical cordon" training system, which provides an open canopy and dappled sunlight (important at such altitude--2800 feet--where sunlight is intense!).
