Very excited about this wine. Earthy, herbal and fresh Cab Franc, aged in a single, 15 year old puncheon (500 liter barrel). From atop the Western mesa in the Los Olivos District, with ocean winds blowing in alll day via the Sta. Rita Hills, a unique Pyrenees clone in shaley, sandy soils. Loire-esque aromatically, without aggressive pyrazines (greenness).
Rows oriented east to west and minimal leaving on the south facing side help keep the sun off the grapes, which maintains freshness and earthy aromatics.
13% abv, 3.6pH, max fermentation temp 73 degrees, all free run, unfined/unfiltered.
